About the Role
Under general supervision, the Quality Inspector applies skills and knowledge to evaluate the conformance of materials, equipment, and installations to Wanzek or client specifications. The role involves inspecting various project activities, generating reports on conditions observed, notifying management of significant issues, and completing documentation to certify satisfactory completion of inspection or test activities. The inspector promotes and complies with all company safety policies while ensuring the quality of daily construction work on large‑scale wind, solar, and industrial projects, including roads, environmental controls, excavations, concrete, rebar, substations, transmission lines, solar racking, PV installation, underground utilities, wind turbine installation, steel erection, welding, piping, valves, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical and electrical equipment. Responsibilities include organizing and recording QC/QA data, monitoring work scope, conducting pre‑construction quality inspections, detecting and addressing deficiencies, acting as a field liaison for quality staff, maintaining open communication with field supervision, and keeping accurate inspection records and punch lists. • Promote and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. • Inspect daily construction activities across diverse wind, solar, and industrial projects. • Accurately record QC/QA data and maintain detailed inspection reports. • Conduct pre‑construction quality control inspections to prevent deficiencies. • Identify and resolve deficiencies promptly and effectively. • Act as field representative for quality staff, ensuring QA/QC requirements are met. • Maintain open communication with field supervision to monitor progress and subcontractor performance. • Create and maintain complete inspection records, punch lists, and equipment calibration status. • Meet daily task schedules to keep projects on track. • Interact cross‑functionally with craft personnel and team members while maintaining a professional appearance. • Read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and technical procedures. • Write daily reports and document project activities. • Collect and record field data to assure compliance with corporate quality control procedures. • Implement the quality control program for assigned project tasks.

What You Bring
Candidates must have an Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field, or a high school diploma/GED with 1‑3 years of relevant construction experience. Preferred certifications include NDE. The role requires a self‑starter with strong organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, write daily reports, collect and record field data, and implement the quality control program. Preferred abilities include basic algebra, geometry, and calculations of area, circumference, and volume. • Perform calculations (area, circumference, volume) and apply basic algebra and geometry (preferred). • Self‑starter with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Compensation ranges from $19.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience, with competitive pay, performance reviews, and merit increases.
