About the Role
The Group Learning Instructional Designer is accountable for learning outcomes for Downer Group‑wide initiatives, identifying target audience needs and creating engaging eLearning and online materials to meet those needs. • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to align learning solutions with business goals. • Design and develop engaging, fit‑for‑purpose eLearning and digital experiences using sound instructional design and multimedia. • Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to create relevant learning materials that cater to various learning styles. • Gather feedback, lead post‑implementation reviews and ensure learning content stays current and effective. • Provide regular updates on program development priorities, status and timelines. • Develop and maintain digital learning templates, tools and branding to ensure consistency across the organisation.

What You Bring
Are you passionate about creating impactful and memorable learning experiences? We are looking for a creative and innovative Instructional Designer, preferably with in‑house experience, to join our team. In this permanent role you will craft memorable learning experiences through developing engaging, effective and appealing learning programs, reporting to the Group Learning and Development Manager and working within a geographically dispersed team across Australia and New Zealand. Successful candidates are highly driven, customer‑focused professionals with strong interpersonal, communication and critical‑thinking skills, able to build effective relationships at all levels and deliver impactful outcomes in a dynamic environment. • Minimum 4 years of instructional design experience in a large, complex, multi‑site organisation. • Strong knowledge of adult education and online learning principles. • Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools such as Adobe Suite, Vyond, Articulate and other digital platforms. • Face‑to‑face learning design experience (highly regarded). • Experience working within a matrixed talent structure delivering customised solutions.
