About the Role

Mortenson is hiring a Carpenter I who will construct and repair wood and wallboard fixtures, ensuring compliance with local building codes and general construction principles. The carpenter will collaborate with journeymen and foremen, supporting grading, material handling, and the erection of prefabricated components across various projects. • Set up trailers and tool trailers/conex’s. • Review blueprints, sketches, or plans to determine material needs and dimensions. • Build decks, stairs, roofs, and temporary structures; install shelves and erosion control measures. • Hand‑set forms and assemble gang forms. • Assist journeyman and foreman with grading and elevation tasks. • Unload, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials. • Perform concrete and rough carpentry, including walls, footings, structural decks, drywall, finish carpentry, doors, frames, hardware, millwork, and cabinetry. • Build relationships with diverse individuals and perform other assigned duties.

What You Bring

Applicants should bring relevant carpentry experience, strong teamwork, positive attitude, and effective communication skills. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship; the company does not offer visa sponsorship for this position. • High school diploma or GED. • Minimum two years of carpentry experience. • Trade or technical school certification/diploma preferred. • Ability to visualize objects from drawings and communicate effectively in English. • Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, customer service focus, detail orientation, and effective communication. • Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements. • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lb (over 50 lb with assistance or equipment).
