About the Role
• Build financial models, valuations and conduct due diligence to support M&A and strategic investments. • Analyse market, industry and competitor trends to identify growth opportunities and risks. • Partner with EGMs, GMs and senior leaders to develop sector strategies and market factbooks. • Prepare high‑quality executive reports, presentations and board papers. • Provide economic and sector insights to inform medium and long‑term strategic planning.

What You Bring
Downer’s Energy & Utilities business is seeking a Strategy Advisor to play a pivotal role in shaping long-term growth and investment decisions across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the General Manager – Strategy, the role sits at the heart of the business, partnering with senior leaders across Water, Energy Networks, Telecommunications, Power Transmission & Storage and Industrials, providing deep financial, commercial and market insight to support M&A activity, strategic planning and sector positioning in a complex, ASX‑listed environment. This high‑impact position is suited to someone who enjoys working closely with executives, influencing decisions, and delivering strategic outcomes that directly shape the future of the business. • Exposure to executive leadership and high‑profile strategic initiatives. • Strong financial modelling, valuation and commercial analysis capability. • Experience in strategy, management consulting, M&A, investment banking or similar. • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Proactive, self‑driven approach with strong stakeholder engagement skills. • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
