About the Role
The Production Manager assists the Plant Manager in directing production, distribution, and operations, either personally or through subordinate supervisors. Management duties include supervising exempt and non‑exempt staff, conducting performance evaluations and improvement plans, approving paid time‑off, assigning work, providing on‑the‑job training, offering guidance, taking disciplinary action, and interviewing candidates for open positions. • Implement manufacturing operations business plans covering safety, compliance, labor hours, cycle time, costs, and capital improvements. • Ensure established cost, quality, and delivery commitments are met. • Obtain data on product types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates. • Guide development of manufacturing plans, including personnel, material, subcontractor, facility, tooling, equipment, and maintenance requirements. • Coordinate manufacturing activities with internal functions and suppliers to optimize resource utilization. • Perform administrative tasks for operations management, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports. • Assist with training and ensure employees comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations. • Develop employees to maximize their potential. • Work with the Plant Manager to establish and continuously review the budget. • Participate in and contribute to the company safety program. • Provide access to a robust employee assistance program. • Provide a 401(k) savings plan with a 150% company match on the first 4% of employee contributions. • Enable career advancement opportunities and the ability to purchase company stock. • Maintain equal‑opportunity employment for veterans and individuals with disabilities.
