About the Role

The Information System Security Officer (ISSO) will maintain security operations for specialized applications from an on‑site location in England. This role involves assessing systems and networks, conducting compliance and vulnerability evaluations, and supporting Risk Management Framework documentation. The ISSO will also perform continuous monitoring, program‑control processes, and media‑management activities in cleared environments. • Assess systems and networks, identifying policy deviations through compliance audits and vulnerability assessments. • Develop and maintain RMF documentation, operating procedures, and security policies. • Perform continuous monitoring per NIST SP 800‑137, auditing for anomalous or malicious activity. • Manage program control processes to support certification, accreditation, and risk mitigation. • Review system audits, track corrective actions, and ensure timely closure. • Conduct media management, including labeling, virus scanning, and secure data transfer across classification domains. • Mentor junior ISSOs and provide instructional guidance. • Communicate effectively with government, contractor, and mission partners.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold an active Top Secret SCI with polygraph clearance and a DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification, which must be obtained within six months of hire. A bachelor’s degree plus at least two years of relevant experience (or equivalent education‑experience combinations) is required. Additional education may substitute for experience and vice versa. The ideal applicant mentors junior ISSOs, communicates effectively with government and contractor partners, and conducts research and analysis of security best practices. Strong knowledge of information‑security program management, incident mitigation, networking concepts, access‑control mechanisms, and cybersecurity risk principles is essential. Interpersonal skills that foster rapport across military, civilian, and contractor stakeholders are also valued. • Hold an active TS/SCI with polygraph and obtain DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification within six months. • Possess a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education/experience) and at least two years of relevant experience. • Apply knowledge of security program management, incident mitigation, networking, access control, and cybersecurity risk principles.
