About the Role
Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Lead Technician provides direction to a group of technicians to ensure all repairs and maintenance of equipment comply with the Company’s safety standards and applicable federal and state regulations. The Lead Technician is responsible for chassis (diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks) and refuse bodywork, including hydraulic, electrical, heating and air‑conditioning system maintenance and repair. • Lead a team of technicians to perform safe, efficient repairs on chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC, and air/hydraulic braking systems. • Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic issues using advanced diagnostic tools and coach technicians on techniques. • Perform line‑maintenance welding, fabrication, and comprehensive inspections of third‑party vendor repairs. • Schedule repair work to minimize shop downtime and maintain productivity. • Mentor technicians, act as interim Maintenance Supervisor, and complete required company training. • Participate in 401(k) with company match, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, and paid time off.

What You Bring
The role requires expert knowledge and advanced proficiency in chassis component repair, refuse body control, hydraulic and electrical systems, air and hydraulic braking, engine repair, suspension, drivetrain, steering, and HVAC systems. Responsibilities include line‑maintenance welding and fabrication, directing technicians to perform work safely and efficiently, inspecting third‑party vendor repairs, performing complex diagnostic work, identifying malfunctions with electronic tools, completing company training, handling interim supervisor duties, and mentoring team members. Candidates must be able to perform inspections and repairs on heavy‑truck systems such as suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions. At least three years of heavy‑truck technician experience is required; supervisory or lead‑technician experience, ASE Heavy Truck certifications (T1‑T8), and a Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License are preferred but not mandatory. A valid driver’s license and familiarity with OSHA Haz Com, Lockout/Tagout, and fire protection regulations are also valued. • Possess 3+ years of heavy‑truck maintenance experience; supervisory experience and ASE T1‑T8 certifications are preferred. • Knowledge of OSHA HazCom, Lockout/Tagout, and fire protection regulations. • Hold a valid Class B (or higher) Commercial Driver’s License and a standard driver’s license.
