About the Role

The Opportunity: Step into a role where your expertise shapes the future of industrial and mining facilities across Ontario and beyond. As a Structural Engineer on our Resources team in Sudbury, you will contribute to major new builds, rehabilitation programs, and supporting infrastructure for Canada’s mining and industrial sectors, while mentoring emerging designers and strengthening our provincial practice. • Design concrete and steel structural systems for mining and industrial facilities. • Deliver detailed engineering packages from conceptual design to stamped IFC documents. • Coordinate design requirements with mechanical, electrical, process, and geotechnical teams. • Conduct structural assessments, site investigations, and condition evaluations for retrofits and rehabilitation. • Prepare technical reports, calculations, and construction specifications for regulatory compliance. • Provide design leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers. • Engage directly with clients through site meetings, field reviews, and collaborative problem‑solving. • Support cost‑efficient, technically robust solutions that reflect WSP’s commitment to innovation. • Apply Canadian codes and standards to ensure safe, resilient designs. • Utilize structural analysis software such as S‑Frame, STAAD.Pro, or SAP2000 for complex challenges. • Perform field reviews and structural condition assessments in active industrial environments. • Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, embracing innovation, curiosity, and continuous learning.
