About the Role
The Tower Technician II installs, maintains, and operates wired, wireless, fiber‑optic, and microwave telecom equipment. You will follow MasTec’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and industry standards such as OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, and ANSI. Core duties include climbing towers and ladders, erecting various tower types, off‑loading material, preparing sites, installing carriers, antennas, transmission lines, and electrical foundations, and assisting with lifts using helicopters, cranes, or gin poles. You will also mentor less‑experienced technicians and perform other assigned tasks. • Follow MasTec Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and industry standards (OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, ANSI). • Climb and work on towers and ladders at various heights. • Erect various tower types, including monopoles, self‑support, and guyed towers. • Off‑load material, manage inventory, and prepare/clean job sites. • Install carriers, microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas. • Install transmission lines, foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, and elliptical waveguides. • Perform electrical site foundation, grounding, and conduit installations. • Assist tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles. • Mentor less‑experienced technicians.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate prioritizes safety, consistently delivers high‑quality work, and enjoys solving complex, hands‑on problems on long‑term projects. Required qualifications include a high school diploma, at least two years of tower experience, ability to read and follow printed instructions, knowledge of safety standards, and physical ability to climb towers, lift 50 lb, and work up to 12 hours. A valid driver’s license is required; NWSA certification is a plus. • Lift up to 50 lb, work up to 12 hours, and hold a valid driver’s license. • Minimum two years tower experience; high school diploma required; NWSA certification a plus.
