About the Role

The role provides financial services support, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, reconciliation, and special services. The intern assists with billing compliance, vendor invoice processing, monthly close, audit requests, and data entry for multi‑project invoices. Additional duties involve administrative tasks such as vendor setup, tax reporting, collection of client tax‑exempt certificates, preparing owner applications, and providing progress reports. The intern is expected to apply academic knowledge, adhere to company policies, maintain professional relationships, and participate in learning opportunities. • Ensure client billing and accounts receivable meet contractual requirements • Process vendor invoices and keep accounts payable up to date for assigned projects • Process subcontractor invoices and verify lien waivers, contracts, and insurance compliance • Assist with monthly close by posting or accruing client bills and project costs • Respond to internal and external audit requests • Enter project-specific vendor invoice data and prepare multi-project invoices for central processing • Perform administrative invoice tasks: vendor setup, sales/use tax reporting, and manage client tax-exempt certificates • Compile supporting documentation for Turner owner payment applications • Provide periodic progress reports to the supervisor • Apply academic finance knowledge to real-world tasks and adhere to company policies

What You Bring

This internship in the Carolinas division is located in Charlotte, NC, and is a temporary, non‑exempt finance position supporting profit centers. The intern will work under the Accounting Manager or senior accountants in Operational Finance. Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited 4‑year college, preferably in accounting or finance, with at least one year of coursework and basic finance knowledge. They should demonstrate interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, attention to detail, ability to work independently and in a team, strong organization, communication, and intermediate to advanced Excel skills. The position requires physical ability to navigate construction sites, including climbing stairs, ladders, and handling moderate noise, dust, and weather conditions.
