About the Role
The candidate will manage projects and multidisciplinary design teams, control budgets, develop staff competencies and support business development with commercial and technical proposals. Professional qualification with an engineering institution (ICE, CIHT, PW | etc.) is required. • Conduct early‑stage optioneering and understand all design phases from feasibility to detailed design. • Lead infrastructure schemes through feasibility, concept, detailed design, construction, commissioning and operation. • Manage project procurement, requirements, technical assurance, risk and health & safety compliance, including CDM regulations. • Oversee multidisciplinary design teams, control budgets, and develop staff competencies and career paths. • Produce commercial and technical responses for business development opportunities. • Work on UK public‑sector infrastructure projects and independently review and approve design work to standards. • Utilise digital design tools such as BIM to create deliverables. • Coach, mentor and develop people and teams to achieve technical excellence (beneficial).
