About the Role

Training will include health and safety, technical installation, electrical systems, and customer service, preparing you for the full range of duties required in domestic heating and plumbing. • Follow health and safety legislation and safe working practices. • Carry out selection, planning, installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance and fault diagnosis of plumbing and heating systems. • Install and test electrical components and control systems for domestic heating. • Apply principles of domestic mechanical and environmental technology systems. • Deliver high‑quality customer service and assess client needs. • Respect customers' properties and maintain a clean work environment. • Receive tools, Chromebook and uniform. • Participate in an annual Mears Fun Day and apprenticeship events.

Benefits

Mears Group is offering a fixed‑term Plumbing and Domestic Heating (Level 3) apprenticeship in Milton Keynes with a salary that rises from £7.96 per hour for 16‑18‑year‑olds to £12.21 (increasing to £12.71 in April) for those aged 21 and over, based on a 42.5‑hour week that includes college time. The apprenticeship begins the week of 21 September 2026, following a start date at Mears on the week of 3 August 2026, and runs for approximately 48 months. Apprentices at Mears are paid above the national minimum wage and are compensated for both work and college attendance. The programme provides hands‑on experience in people’s homes, community projects and customer‑focused service, supporting the company’s commitment to developing the next generation of its workforce. • Earn an industry‑recognised qualification. • Get 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. • Receive a £250 contribution toward driving lessons. • Access staff discounts on groceries, holidays, eye‑tests and other perks.
