About the Role

In this role you will support the Water Practice Business Development group, work directly with senior engineers, manage client and subcontractor communications, and ensure that project deliverables meet GHD’s quality standards. You will also prepare technical documents, lead stakeholder engagement, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while developing your own professional capabilities. • Support Water Practice Business Development to expand water infrastructure market share in Ontario. • Collaborate with senior engineers and technical teams to lead execution of water and wastewater projects. • Manage client, subcontractor, and contractor communications throughout project lifecycles. • Ensure project deliverables meet GHD’s internal and client quality standards. • Prepare complex documents, data summaries, and reports using standard office software. • Plan and conduct stakeholder engagement to address needs and concerns. • Participate in professional development, maintain accreditation, and stay updated on industry best practices. • Review existing operations and propose continuous improvement ideas. • Assign short‑term work schedules to team members and monitor timelines. • Conduct assurance reviews and coordinate third‑party audits to mitigate risks. • Lead research, workshops, and activities that define project specifications. • Develop detailed workstream or project plans aligned with GHD’s project management framework. • Draft review reports and presentations with recommendations for stakeholders. • Manage project resources, forecast costs, and report variances. • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints. • Produce product documentation and training materials for handover. • Lead a small project team, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback. • Coordinate requirement elicitation, analysis, documentation, and verification throughout project phases.

What You Bring

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager – Water and Wastewater Treatment to join our team in the Waterloo or Greater Toronto Area. The ideal candidate brings diversified experience in business development, project capture planning, proposal writing, and contract administration for municipal water and wastewater treatment projects. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licence, and preferably a PMP certification. With 10‑15 years of post‑graduate experience—at least ten years on multi‑discipline water and wastewater treatment projects—you will demonstrate a strong track record in business development, technical leadership, risk management, and effective communication. • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation. • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred). • 10‑15 years post‑graduate experience, with at least 10 years in multi‑discipline water and wastewater treatment projects. • Proven track record in business development, project capture planning, and proposal writing. • Demonstrated leadership of technical and business aspects of treatment plant projects. • In‑depth knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and construction methods. • Experience with cost estimating, scheduling, and risk management for treatment infrastructure. • Strong verbal, written, and report‑writing communication skills. • Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and teamwork abilities.
