About the Role

The role is Contractor Supervising Officer (CSO) based on the client site at Rolls‑Royce in Derby, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will be part of JLL’s on‑site team delivering safe and compliant contractor management. You will have overall responsibility for ensuring all contractors and visitors are properly managed in accordance with local procedures, RAMS and relevant policies. This includes overseeing subcontractor work across the site and acting as the liaison between subcontractors, JLL and the client to ensure clear communication before, during and after works. Daily duties involve managing isolations with authorised personnel, running the sign‑in/out process, conducting pre‑start meetings, issuing compliance paperwork, and ensuring appropriate barriers and signage are in place. You will attend daily interface meetings, maintain the contractor attendance board, keep stakeholders informed, carry out periodic inspections, report incidents and near‑misses, and manage small works schemes while acting as the working‑at‑height responsible person. You will also mentor the CSO team, arrange training, drive operational excellence, meet KPI and SLA targets, and ensure legislative health and safety compliance through regular site inspections and safety walks. Building strong relationships with the client, IFM team and wider stakeholders is essential, as is supporting the IM/FM team with day‑to‑day supervision. • Oversee management of all contractors and visitors ensuring compliance with RAMS and site procedures. • Coordinate sign‑in/out process, pre‑start meetings, and issue compliance paperwork. • Conduct daily interface meetings, maintain contractor attendance board, and communicate planned works to stakeholders. • Perform periodic inspections, report incidents/near‑misses, and address safety or quality issues. • Manage small works schemes and act as the working‑at‑height responsible person. • Mentor and train the CSO team, driving operational excellence and meeting KPI/SLA targets. • Ensure health‑ and safety legislative compliance through site inspections and safety walks. • Build and maintain strong relationships with the client, IFM team, and wider stakeholders.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate has a proven track record managing contractors in hard FM or commercial/industrial properties, excellent customer communication skills, and the ability to lead large teams. Relevant qualifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS, and knowledge of M&E services, QHSE risk management, permits and SSoW are highly desirable. • Require proven experience managing contractors in hard FM/commercial or industrial properties. • Must possess strong customer communication, leadership, and time‑management skills. • Desired qualifications: IOSH/NEBOSH, SMSTS; knowledge of M&E services, QHSE risk management, permits and SSoW.
