About the Role

The Driver‑CDL (B) safely operates a collection truck to provide prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services. The driver ensures the vehicle meets the company’s safety standards before each shift, complies with all company, state, and federal regulations, and completes daily vehicle condition reports (VCRs) to address any defects promptly. Key duties include performing comprehensive pre‑ and post‑operation inspections of tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls, and reporting any safety issues. While on route, the driver follows the route sheet and map, operates manual or automatic controls to lift, load, compact, and transport refuse to the designated disposal site, and tags unsatisfactory waste containers according to departmental procedures. The driver interacts courteously with customers, dispatchers, and coworkers to ensure timely service, monitors waste for unacceptable material, cleans accidental spills in accordance with safety policies, and continuously checks vehicle condition to minimize downtime by cleaning waste from the packer blade and truck body after each trip. Additional responsibilities include completing route productivity sheets, VCRs, and other required reports, maintaining productivity standards, adhering to all safety policies, actively participating in the Company’s ReSOP program, and performing other job‑related duties as assigned.
