About the Role

The General Maintenance Technician I works for the Facility Services department of The Budd Group, reporting to the Associate Maintenance Manager. This hourly position offers daily pay on-demand and follows a Sunday‑through‑Thursday schedule from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. The role’s purpose is to assist in a range of construction‑trade tasks while interacting courteously with coworkers, management, and customers. Key duties include evaluating, repairing, and performing minor plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work such as fixing toilets, switches, lighting, and filters. The technician also handles basic carpentry, painting, structural repairs, and vehicle upkeep, while maintaining accurate work order records and following lockout/tagout and PPE safety procedures. Supporting the preventive maintenance program and responding to on‑call emergency assignments are also essential responsibilities.

What You Bring

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus a one‑year certificate or related experience, and at least one year of maintenance work background. Required skills cover HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, lighting, and electrical repairs, with the ability to lift up to 50 lb, climb ladders, and work safely in environments that may expose employees to infectious waste and moderate noise levels.
