About the Role
Drivers operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear-end lift attachments to transport waste and recyclable containers to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. They perform pick-up services for containers that can exceed 1,000 pounds and must execute skilled backing maneuvers in high‑traffic, congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots. This includes Commercial, Residential, and Roll‑off driver roles, each with specific collection and transportation responsibilities. Essential duties require adherence to Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws while operating vehicles. Drivers conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, complete DVIR reports, and immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, or service interruptions to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. They attend required training, collaborate on route efficiency, fulfill customer requests, ensure clean dump sites, follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and assist fellow drivers as needed. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments to transport waste and recyclables. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR documentation. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or service interruptions immediately. • Attend required training, briefings, and meetings and collaborate on route efficiency. • Execute skilled backing maneuvers for containers weighing over 1,000 lb in tight spaces. • Complete end‑of‑day paperwork, follow route assignments, and assist other drivers.

What You Bring
Required qualifications include at least one year of experience operating a CDL‑class vehicle or equivalent recent military driving, a minimum age of 18, legal work eligibility, and a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License with an air‑brake endorsement. Preferred qualifications are a high school diploma or GED. The position demands physical abilities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
