About the Role

The Fire Life Safety BAS Specialist reports to the Site CBM or designated manager and is tasked with performing code‑compliance inspections, assessing fire‑safety risks, reporting findings, and proposing solutions aligned with the NFC, NFPA and other applicable codes. • Inspect client premises for fire‑life safety compliance and develop remediation action plans. • Conduct monthly fire extinguisher, weekly fire pump, and monthly fire alarm inspections per provincial code. • Perform fire drills and issue/manage hot‑work permits, tracking non‑conformities and critical incidents. • Analyze fire alarm activations, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures. • Liaise with fire/safety contractors, tenants, and property management to coordinate repairs, evacuation plans, and training sessions. • Prepare and deliver fire‑prevention awareness and extinguisher‑use training for building occupants. • Test, commission, and troubleshoot low‑voltage BAS components (sensors, actuators, valves, relays) and verify network communications. • Program HVAC equipment graphics, integrate BAS software with third‑party systems, and simulate operational sequences to validate performance. • Download controller software, adjust settings on‑site, and provide data for fire system and BAS reporting. • Support daily demand work orders, coordinate subcontractor activities, and review their inspection reports.

What You Bring

The role requires a college or university degree in fire prevention (ACS) and three to five years of relevant experience. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of fire‑prevention techniques, regulations, and commercial building operations, as well as interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills. Applicants must hold Canadian Fire Alarm Association certification (or equivalent) and a valid driver’s licence.
