CDL Truck Driver

About the Role

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear load‑lift attachments. Depending on the line of business—residential, roll‑off, or other—they collect waste or recyclable containers that can exceed 1,000 lb, navigate congested roadways, driveways, alleys, and lots, and perform precise backing maneuvers. Core duties include adhering to WM Safety, OSHA, and DOT regulations; conducting pre‑ and post‑trip inspections; reporting unsafe conditions, incidents, and service interruptions; dumping containers and leaving sites clean; following assigned routes; completing end‑of‑day paperwork; and supporting fellow drivers as directed. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments to collect and transport waste or recyclables. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR reports. • Follow WM Safety, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws while on route. • Communicate incidents, service interruptions, and customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Dump receptacles, keep customer sites clean, and complete end‑of‑day documentation. • Assist other drivers as needed to meet customer needs.

What You Bring

The position is located at 1580 E Elwood St., Phoenix, AZ. WM seeks candidates with at least one year of CDL driving experience in waste collection or local delivery. The role offers a base pay of $25.50 per hour (depending on experience) and a full‑time day shift schedule that includes weekend availability. Candidates must possess a valid CDL Class A or B with air‑brake endorsement (or equivalent military driving experience), be at least 18 years old, and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role requires physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, and sitting, and may involve exposure to various environmental conditions; reasonable accommodations are provided as needed. • Hold a valid CDL Class A or B with air‑brake endorsement (or 1 year equivalent military driving). • Be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States. • Preferred: High School diploma or GED.
