About the Role

A Helper will assist with various manual needs of the construction work being performed on a Power Plant, including but not limited to moving equipment, digging, retrieving equipment, standing by for fire safety, and any other work instructed by a supervisor or journeyman. • Use industrial hand tools and power tools. • Move equipment, dig, retrieve equipment, and stand by for fire safety as directed. • Operate fire extinguishers. • Climb onto structures and scaffolding. • Use rigging and hoisting devices (chokers, chain falls, come‑alongs) to position materials. • Perform preventative maintenance such as lubrication and repairing worn parts. • Follow supervisor directions.

What You Bring

Successful candidates will demonstrate problem‑solving ability, manual dexterity, and strong communication skills while working collaboratively and adhering to safety standards. The role requires extensive physical activity and work in diverse weather conditions, with mandatory use of personal protective equipment. • Meet all physical demands (standing, walking, bending, squatting, lifting up to 50 lb, working at heights and outdoors up to 12 hours). • Have reliable transportation and be able to work 7 days as needed. • Former Zachry employee preferred. • Basic mechanical knowledge. • Experience on an industrial construction site. • Formal/technical education. • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools. • Good problem‑solving abilities. • Good manual dexterity and reading comprehension. • Team player with strong communication skills. • Wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear protection, respirator, safety vest, gloves, steel‑toe boots).
