About the Role
• Be available for on‑call duty and respond to dispatches within one hour. • Communicate effectively with associates, residents, and vendors to maintain AvalonBay’s customer‑service standards. • Accurately report time, work schedules, and document hours worked. • Oversee maintenance and preventive‑maintenance programs for assigned communities. • Conduct regular property visits and partner with on‑site supervisors to enhance performance. • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with AvalonBay operational standards and applicable laws/regulations.

What You Bring
• Hold a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance where applicable. • Possess 3–5 years of apartment maintenance experience with strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware accessories, masonry, painting/wallpaper, water features, fitness equipment, and waste management systems; understand basics of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, sprinklers and steam systems. • Demonstrate complete understanding of emergency systems, shutoffs, locations and operating sequences. • Have at least 2 years of people‑management experience, able to supervise, develop, coach, and improve associate performance. • Hold EPA Type I/II certification where required. • Hold Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification where required.
