About the Role
• Lead a 5‑7 member Agile software development team, including Scrum ceremonies and high‑velocity feature delivery. • Mentor and coach team members to become highly productive contributors. • Influence API architecture and improve CI/CD pipelines. • Drive continuous improvement through engineering excellence. • Translate business requirements into technical specs, project plans, and schedules. • Deliver software projects on time and to specification. • Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and other Agile teams to define roadmaps and execute large initiatives. • Work with recruiting to hire and onboard top talent. • Maintain deep knowledge of the CRE industry and CoStar’s business model. • Evaluate emerging technologies for opportunities to strengthen the platform. • Own product and technical platforms, acting as the “Voice of the Customer” in readiness reviews.

What You Bring
The Technical Manager, Software Engineering on the Platform Development team will expand the data platform supporting major brands such as Homes.com, CoStar Suite, LoopNet, and Apartments.com. The role requires deep business understanding, Agile leadership of a 5‑7 person team, and ownership of product and technical platforms, while collaborating with product managers, designers, and recruiting. • Foster a can‑do attitude, engineering mindset, and collaborative team values. • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not‑for‑profit university. • 7+ years of software development experience, including modern web and database technologies. • 3+ years building large distributed, API‑driven systems. • 2+ years leading Agile teams. • Expert knowledge of OOP and design patterns; proficiency in C#, .NET Core, and SQL Server. • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage at all organizational levels. • Excellent team‑building, negotiation, and consensus‑building abilities. • Cloud development experience, preferably AWS. • Experience with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch. • Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration. • Knowledge of commercial real estate (CRE) is a plus.
