About the Role

• Conduct analyses to develop mechanical design options and assist with cost estimates and specifications. • Perform routine engineering tasks under guidance of Project Engineer or Manager. • Execute projects with clear objectives and limited variables. • Lead small projects or support senior engineers on larger assignments. • Collaborate with Project Engineers, other Mechanical EITs, and Technicians as needed.

What You Bring

HDR is seeking a Mechanical Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) or Coordinator to join its integrated facility and infrastructure design team, which includes Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural, and Site Civil engineers. The role supports a diverse portfolio spanning mission‑critical, healthcare, science, technology, justice, power distribution, transportation, and emerging commercial sectors. • Master's degree in architectural engineering with mechanical emphasis (preferred). • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or willingness to obtain it. • Experience with healthcare, science & technology, or civic facilities. • Interest or experience in sustainable design/LEED. • Prior experience at an architectural/engineering consulting firm. • HVAC system design experience. • Proficiency in Revit. • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Trane TRACE or similar, equipment selection software).
