About the Role

The role involves the safe operation of plant equipment, including inspection, cleaning, unit startup and shutdown, and water testing. Employees will also support lock‑out/tag‑out and confined‑space safety procedures, participate in hands‑on, classroom, and computer‑based training, and work toward completing a four‑year apprentice program to become a Control Room Operator B Journeyman. Travel to other locations may be required. Work is performed around energized and rotating equipment, confined spaces, heights, and environments with noise, chemical fumes, lead, dust, and temperature extremes, requiring the use of respirators, hearing protection, and other PPE. Physical demands include climbing ladders and scaffolding, walking on gravel or uneven surfaces, and lifting up to 50 pounds. • Operate plant equipment safely, including startup, shutdown, inspection, cleaning, and water testing. • Execute lock‑out/tag‑out and confined‑space entry safety procedures. • Participate in hands‑on, classroom, and computer‑based training programs. • Travel to additional plant locations as needed. • Work in environments with energized equipment, heights, noise, chemicals, and temperature extremes while using required PPE. • Perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, pass the EEI Plant Operator Selection Systems test, and possess a valid driver’s license. Additional requirements include rotating‑shift availability, overtime response, compliance with safety rules and PPE use, respirator qualification, baseline audiogram, and the ability to pass drug screening, security clearance, and other federal examinations. One year of industrial electrical experience and knowledge of pumps and motor controls are preferred. • Complete a four‑year apprentice program to achieve Control Room Operator B Journeyman status. • Meet educational requirement of high school diploma or GED and pass EEI POSS test. • Maintain a valid driver’s license and be available for rotating shifts and overtime call‑outs. • Hold respirator qualification and baseline audiogram; pass drug test, security clearance, and OSHA/DOT regulations. • Possess at least one year of industrial electrical experience and knowledge of pumps and motor controls (desired).
