About the Role

Join Ventia in a role which keeps the Australian Defence Force’s wheels turning! A great opportunity for a Fitter/Armourer to join our fully geared Defence Maintenance Contract team based at Enoggera. As a Fitter/Armourer you will use your highly detailed workmanship to inspect, repair, and recondition military hardware. As a qualified Fitter and Armourer or Fitter and Turner, it will be your responsibility to provide direct embedded support and teamwork with Defence and Defence training activities to ensure hardware is functional and training objectives are achieved. Perform maintenance, servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance on military hardware and defence armaments. Safely operate machinery to repair, manufacture or modify required parts. Certify plant and equipment as serviceable and fit for purpose. Provide occasional support to various Defence bases across the state, assisting with armory maintenance, with all travel, accommodation and food paid for. • Inspect, repair, and recondition military hardware • Perform maintenance, servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance on defence armaments • Safely operate machinery to repair, manufacture, or modify required parts • Certify plant and equipment as serviceable and fit for purpose • Provide occasional support to Defence bases for armory maintenance (travel, accommodation, and food covered) • Work on unique defence vehicles and assets

What You Bring

Possess a Trade Certificate III Engineering Mechanical (Fitter & Turner) or Certificate III Engineering Mechanic (General Fitter). Hold a valid Australian driver’s licence; an MR of HR licence is desirable. Must be physically fit, enjoy hands‑on work, be an Australian citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance. • Hold Trade Certificate III Engineering Mechanical (Fitter & Turner) or Certificate III Engineering Mechanic (General Fitter) • Hold a valid Australian driver’s licence (MR of HR licence desirable) • Be physically fit, enjoy hands‑on work, Australian citizen, and maintain Defence Security Clearance
