About the Role
The Groundman role involves maintaining, repairing, installing, and operating traffic signals, ITS electrical equipment, and fiber optic systems in line with plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards, working both independently and within a team. • Install, repair, and maintain traffic signal and ITS systems. • Service traffic signal and fiber equipment by checking, testing, splicing, and replacing faulty components such as LED modules, electronic parts, cables, detectors, switches, and fixtures. • Install traffic signal, fiber optic, and streetlight cables. • Follow directions from superintendents and project managers for miscellaneous tasks during shifts.

What You Bring
Qualified candidates possess strong troubleshooting abilities for a variety of traffic signal and ITS equipment, and must be able to follow direction from superintendents and project managers throughout their shift. • High School Diploma or GED required. • Experience working in field and construction crews. • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, traffic signal plans, and specifications. • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. • Capable of lifting or moving supplies and equipment up to 75 lb. • Willingness to work at heights and obtain bucket‑truck operator certification if required. • Strong prioritization and execution skills in high‑pressure environments. • Preferred IMSA Work Zone Safety Certification (FDOT TTC).
