About the Role

In this role the journeyman will measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit, safely operate hand and power tools, lift and position objects, prepare and supply necessary materials and tools, and maintain a clean, organized work area. The employee will work under close supervision following standard instructions, build relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels, pull DC and MV wire, and perform any other duties assigned. • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using hand tools. • Safely operate hand and power tools (drills, crimpers, cutters, etc.). • Lift, position, and fasten objects. • Prepare and supply materials and tools for electrical trades. • Maintain a clean, organized work area and equipment. • Work under close supervision following standard procedures. • Build relationships with diverse colleagues and organizational levels. • Pull DC and MV wire.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking a Solar Electrical Journeyman to provide skilled craftsmanship for the maintenance and installation of electrical systems. Qualified candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, have at least two years of related experience, and possess a trade or technical school certification. They must pass an apprentice aptitude test, complete union‑specific and Mortenson project training, hold a valid driver’s license, and be proficient in English (Spanish a plus). The ability to read plans, operate equipment such as table saws, radial arm saws, sanders, drill presses, fall‑protection gear, rigging, and form systems, and demonstrate strong teamwork, communication, and emotional intelligence are also required. Physical demands include repetitive hand, arm and leg movements and the ability to lift up to 50 lb, with heavier loads handled with assistance. The role does not provide visa sponsorship; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
