About the Role

• Support diverse engineering tasks to build technical, social, and ethical competencies. • Conduct project research and perform preliminary design calculations and analysis. • Prepare final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates. • Collect, organize, and maintain project documentation. • Complete training on assigned tasks and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Make responsible decisions regarding company resources and follow safety policies. • Follow direction from mentors and managers to execute projects. • Maintain workplace safety and comply with health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.

What You Bring

The Earth & Environment Team is looking for a full‑time Metallurgical Engineering Intern for the Summer 2026 program, based in Lakewood, CO. This temporary 12‑week position begins around May 18 2026, with a flexible start date, and does not include relocation or housing assistance. Occasional travel may be required depending on project needs. • Enrolled in an accredited Chemical, Metallurgical, or Mineral Process Engineering program (graduating Aug 2026+). • Demonstrated interest in extractive metallurgical process engineering. • Communicate effectively with engineering and non‑engineering audiences. • Proficient in technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and engineering tools. • Preferred: experience with process design, material/energy balances, PFDs, cost estimation, and capital budgeting. • Preferred: exposure to processing operations such as crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching, etc., and interest in flowsheet development for various commodities. • Preferred: prior internship or campus leadership experience.
