About the Role
Shape the future of fibre connectivity in Aotearoa with Ventia, the primary service delivery partner for Tuatahi’s fibre network. This role offers a chance to make a real impact by connecting communities and enabling growth across New Zealand. As Project Director you will lead end‑to‑end delivery of customer connections, network maintenance and build activities under the national contract, ensuring safety, quality and commercial success while fostering innovation and operational excellence. You will work closely with the GM and Senior Leadership Team to set direction, optimise performance and identify new opportunities, inspiring and empowering a large, diverse team and subcontractor network to create a culture of trust, accountability and continuous improvement. • Provide leadership oversight and governance for the Tuatahi contract, ensuring safe, timely, and cost‑effective delivery. • Build strong, trusted relationships with the client and stakeholders as primary point of contact. • Drive financial performance through disciplined cost control, forecasting, and resource planning. • Lead and develop a high‑performing team of managers, Ventia field staff, and subcontractors. • Contribute to growth strategy, operational improvements, and innovation within the NZ Telecommunications business. • Lead a national service partner contract with strong growth ahead. • Operate at strategic level while owning client delivery.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate is a natural leader who thrives in complex environments, balances strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery, and makes decisions that consider client needs, operational realities and financial outcomes while keeping people at the heart of everything. • Proven experience leading large‑scale telecommunications or infrastructure programmes with complex customer connection, network and maintenance requirements. • Strong financial and commercial skills including budgeting, P&L, contracts, negotiations, and performance management. • Exceptional relationship‑building skills, including subcontractor management. • Ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams with a collaborative and respectful leadership style.
