About the Role

• Lead project team within GMC Architecture Community framework, respecting structure, roles, and standards. • Contribute to multi‑office practice sharing best practices for civic, academic, and healthcare projects. • Manage multiple moderate‑size projects or portions of major projects. • Design and detail complete projects, systems, components, or processes. • Prepare complete project documents, including the Project Manual/Specifications. • Apply economic and decision analysis, covering financial, regulatory, and environmental issues. • Assign tasks and direct architects, technicians, and administrative staff. • Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of architectural work. • Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments. • Independently perform assignments with general result guidance. • Interact with clients, officials, contractors, and others. • Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of assignments. • Balance multiple projects and meet deadlines. • Use good judgment and make timely decisions.

What You Bring

• Apply broad knowledge of architectural principles and practices. • Function effectively within multidisciplinary teams. • Understand full project process: development/scoping, design, construction. • Use Revit Architecture and complementary design tools proficiently. • Demonstrate leadership, continuous improvement, decision‑making, time management, and delegation. • Hold a Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture from an accredited program. • Possess 10+ years of relevant experience. • Be a Registered Architect in NC or completing NCARB Program. • Be proficient in Revit. • Listen and communicate effectively. • Exhibit strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. • Adapt to changing business needs. • Travel to project sites may be required, as GMC Architecture serves clients in 36 states.
