About the Role
The Geothermal Drilling Assistant works with the Lead Driller to operate and maintain drilling equipment across the greater Northeast region. The role requires 100 % travel, transporting tools and materials, following safety protocols, and keeping detailed daily records while supporting general rig labor. • Assist Lead Driller with daily drilling setup and operation. • Monitor and troubleshoot drilling equipment and mud/pressure control systems. • Prepare, transport, and maintain drilling tools, pipes, and rig structures. • Follow safety and environmental protocols, ensuring organized work sites. • Record daily drilling progress, downtime, and equipment performance. • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on tools and equipment. • Communicate issues promptly to supervisors. • Work at least 30 hours/week, typically 40 hours plus overtime. • Participate in a 401(k) plan with up to 4 % company match.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, possess a valid CDL (preferred), and have at least five years of construction or drilling experience, including prior operation of drilling equipment. Preferred credentials include OSHA 30, SST card, flagger certification, NGWA certification, and experience with geothermal heat pumps. This position includes supervisory responsibilities. • Possess a high school diploma or GED; CDL preferred. • Have 5+ years of construction or drilling experience with prior equipment operation. • OSHA 30, SST card, and flagger certification preferred; NGWA certification a plus. • Experience with geothermal heat pumps and utility locate law compliance. • Able to take on supervisory responsibilities. • Travel 100 % across the Northeast (CT, MA, NY, ME, VT, NH, NJ, MD) with overnight lodging provided.
