About the Role
This role provides 5‑38 kV Metal‑Clad switchgear design support to Power Components Division customers and maintains the OEM Drawing Portal while interpreting customer specifications. It aims to increase demand for PCD products by demonstrating value propositions linked to product and industry expertise. The engineer will also analyze customer designs to improve their testing success rates. Customer engagement includes creating UL presentations that streamline product rating and testing, assisting discussions with certifying bodies, and delivering pre‑ and post‑sale technical support across the Americas region. Technical content development entails maintaining OEM handbooks, web tools, and marketing communications related to 5‑38 kV breakers and switchgear. Collaboration with sales and marketing teams ensures accurate interpretation of product specifications and drawing requirements. • Provide design support for 5‑38 kV metal‑clad switchgear and manage the OEM Drawing Portal. • Analyze customer designs and testing data, delivering feedback to improve test pass rates. • Act as subject‑matter expert on arc‑resistant and non‑arc‑resistant switchgear standards and applications. • Develop UL presentations and coordinate with certifying bodies to clarify standards and testing requirements. • Create and maintain technical content for OEM handbooks, web tools, and marketing collateral. • Assist sales and marketing teams with technical guidance on product specifications and drawing requirements. • Travel as needed (~25% of time) to interface with customers, support project assignments, and conduct site visits.

What You Bring

The role also involves sustaining product differentiation by enhancing the knowledge base of engineering technologies and competitor practices, and verifying marketing collateral and technical specifications. Success in this position requires deep knowledge of 5‑38 kV circuit breakers, switchgear standards, and product applications, along with experience in updating UL product files. Strong problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills across all stakeholder levels are critical. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, have at least three years of relevant design experience, and be willing to travel for customer and project engagements.
