About the Role

Key responsibilities include defining and executing the Roadway ODOT practice vision, cultivating strong client relationships, and driving business development to expand market presence. The manager will supervise design projects, ensure quality and timely delivery, lead and mentor a high‑performing team, and manage project profitability, resources, and seamless work transitions while upholding integrity and operational excellence. • Lead business development to secure new and existing client work. • Deliver high-quality, profitable services. • Mentor staff and support their professional development. • Leverage firm-wide support in accounting, marketing, recruiting, IT, and production. • Build and expand the practice autonomously with firm backing. • Define and execute the Roadway ODOT practice vision for sustainable growth. • Cultivate strong client relationships as a trusted Roadway ODOT partner. • Supervise design projects, providing technical expertise and strategic oversight. • Ensure deliverables are high-quality and on schedule. • Lead and mentor a high-performing team in a collaborative environment. • Manage project profitability, resources, and smooth work transitions.

What You Bring

Qualifications require 10+ years of civil engineering experience on Roadway ODOT projects, a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field, and an active Professional Engineer license in the relevant state. Candidates must have extensive client contacts, proven business‑development and proposal‑writing skills, the ability to manage projects profitably, strong communication and leadership abilities, and a commitment to mentoring staff. • 10+ years civil engineering experience in Roadway ODOT projects. • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field. • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the applicable state. • Established client contacts and proven business-development track record. • Experience writing proposals, scopes, and budgets. • Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably. • Strong client-problem-solving and communication skills. • Ability to mentor staff and allocate resources positively.
