About the Role
The Senior Scheduling Engineer provides oversight of all planning and scheduling activities, coordinating, supervising, and directing the scheduling team. They ensure corporate planning and schedule standards are implemented, coach and mentor field personnel, maintain resource support, manage hiring decisions, enforce the Zero Injury Safety Program, handle open‑shop and union issues, and maintain relationships with site visitors while managing site work and logistics. • Oversee all planning and scheduling activities across projects. • Coordinate, supervise, and direct the scheduling team. • Ensure compliance with corporate planning and schedule standards. • Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, forepersons, and assistant superintendents. • Foster teamwork and provide crews with necessary resources and support. • Conduct work direction, performance evaluations, and participate in hiring decisions. • Implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program on site. • Manage open‑shop and union issues and maintain relationships with customers, architects, subcontractors, and other visitors. • Optimize site work and logistics, suggesting improvements.

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler I with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever‑changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, and at least four years of construction experience or equivalent training. Required skills include strong knowledge of scheduling concepts and construction practices, the ability to read and interpret plans, experience with 4D visual planning, and solid analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities. Additional knowledge of project management, contracts, cost‑loaded schedules, and claims avoidance is beneficial. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. • Possess at least four years of construction experience or equivalent training. • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of scheduling concepts, construction practices, and 4D visual planning. • Exhibit strong analytical, problem‑solving, oral and written communication skills. • Understand project management, contracts, cost‑loaded schedules, and claims avoidance techniques.

Benefits
The role offers a base salary ranging from $102,000 to $137,700, with higher ranges for certain locations, and eligibility for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
