Job Highlights
About the Role
This opportunity provides high‑level technical assistance and guidance for multi‑site due‑diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, design, development, and construction of utility, industrial, and commercial‑scale projects across public and private sectors. The role involves research, concept development, planning, and construction of transmission and distribution substations, power regulation, renewable energy, and protection and control systems for utilities, transportation, buildings, and government projects. It also includes preparing reports and documentation to advise on material, installation, design, component, and construction specifications, ensuring quality that meets or exceeds industry standards for safety and functionality. The Engineer will support Project Managers in bid evaluation and project planning, lead design teams from the conceptual phase through completion, and serve as Engineer‑of‑Record for large, complex substation and generation‑tie projects. Responsibilities include preparing technical proposals, acting as a technical liaison with clients, contractors, and vendors, and providing engineering support during construction through field inspections and witness testing. Additionally, the role involves mentoring junior engineers, growing client relationships, and developing technical specifications for large EPC projects. Detailed design work covers medium to extra‑high voltage utility substations, encompassing one‑line diagrams, wiring schematics, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing, equipment selection, specification writing, cost estimating, and project scheduling. The Engineer ensures power‑quality procedures are followed, performs QA/QC for deliverables across multiple offices, and manages schedule, budget, and quality for assigned projects. • Provide technical assistance for due‑diligence, investigation, remediation, permitting, design, and construction of utility and industrial projects. • Lead substation and generation‑tie design from concept to completion; act as Engineer‑of‑Record for large, complex projects. • Assist project managers with bid evaluation, project planning, and preparation of technical proposals (scope, schedule, budget). • Serve as technical liaison with clients, contractors, and vendors; conduct field inspections and witness tests during construction. • Mentor junior and intermediate engineers and manage relationships with alliance clients. • Develop technical specifications for large EPC projects and perform detailed design of medium to extra‑high voltage substations. • Create one‑line diagrams, wiring schematics, SCADA, communications layouts, conduit and cable sizing, and equipment selection. • Write equipment specifications, develop cost estimates, and produce project schedules. • Ensure power‑quality procedures are followed and perform QA/QC for deliverables across multiple offices. • Manage schedule, budget, and quality for assigned projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
