About the Role

Key responsibilities include interpreting specifications to determine material quantities, identifying required tools and safety precautions, measuring, marking, and cutting wood or metal to exact specifications, and constructing, reinforcing, and dismantling both concrete and wooden forms. The carpenter will also handle miscellaneous projects such as decks, steps, bulletin boards, and other wooden structures, maintain a clean work area, and support other trades when not performing primary duties. • Read blueprints and specifications to determine material needs. • Identify required tools and safety precautions for each task. • Measure, mark, and cut wood or metal to exact specifications. • Construct, reinforce, and dismantle concrete and wooden forms. • Perform miscellaneous construction projects such as decks, steps, and bulletin boards. • Maintain clean and organized work areas. • Follow all safety, company, and site regulations.

What You Bring

The role requires the ability to read blueprints, sketches, and building plans, along with all necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. Candidates must possess carpentry experience in an industrial plant, have the required tools and reliable transportation, and be willing to follow all safety rules and regulations. Applicants must have at least three years of experience as a carpenter or civil journeyman in an industrial setting, be proficient in reading plans and drawings, and understand basic building techniques and form construction. They must be capable of basic arithmetic, precise measurement, lifting 50+ lbs, and working 8–10 hour days with overtime as needed, while consistently adhering to safety, company, and site regulations. Preferred candidates are current or former Zachry employees, hold NCCER Industrial Journeyman Carpenter certification, possess formal technical education, and have experience working with concrete and rebar. • Minimum 3 years experience as a carpenter or civil journeyman in an industrial plant. • Proficient in reading plans and drawings. • Knowledge of building materials, tools, and basic form construction. • Ability to perform basic arithmetic and precise measurement. • Capable of lifting 50+ lbs and working 8–10 hour days, including overtime. • Preferred: Current or former Zachry employee. • Preferred: NCCER Industrial Journeyman Carpenter certification. • Preferred: Formal technical education. • Preferred: Experience with concrete and rebar.
