Safety Engineer - Commercial Construction (Southern Wisconsin)

About the Role

In this visible role the Safety Engineer will partner with project management and field leadership, conduct inspections, lead investigations, deliver training, and act as a trusted safety resource to protect personnel and support successful project delivery. • Partner with project management and field leadership to develop site‑specific safety plans. • Conduct documented jobsite safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments. • Lead incident investigations focused on prevention and continuous improvement. • Deliver safety training, new‑hire orientations, and toolbox talks. • Identify safety trends and implement proactive risk‑reduction strategies. • Review subcontractor safety programs and participate in preconstruction meetings. • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. • Track, analyze, and report safety metrics, including OSHA logs and required postings. • Serve as a trusted safety liaison between field teams and leadership. • Represent Wisconsin on the Pepper Safety Council.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in safety‑related disciplines or 5‑7 years of commercial construction safety experience, an OSHA 30‑Hour certification, strong communication skills, a solutions‑oriented mindset, and the physical ability to work on active sites, lift up to 50 pounds, and travel throughout Wisconsin. • Bachelor’s degree in safety, EHS, safety engineering, or related field, or 5–7 years of commercial construction safety experience. • OSHA 30‑Hour certification (required). • Strong communication and influencing skills at all organizational levels. • Practical, solutions‑oriented approach with sound judgment. • Ability to work on active construction sites, including walking, climbing ladders, and navigating multi‑level structures. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management software. • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout Wisconsin.
