About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with senior and client accountants, handling a variety of client instructions, preparing month‑end and year‑end reports, and addressing client queries. Additional duties include supporting VAT returns, funding requests, income transfers, and service‑charge year‑ends. • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls. • Assist senior or client accountants with client delivery or manage smaller client instructions. • Prepare and issue month‑end and year‑end reports following internal processes and client PMAs. • Resolve client reporting queries and participate in regular accounting calls. • Assist in preparing VAT returns, audit support documentation, and VAT reconciliations. • Prepare funding requests and reconcile funding status continuously. • Arrange and transfer income collected on behalf of clients. • Support service charge year‑ends, cash reconciliations, and budgeting. • Contribute to onboarding new client instructions and handover of exited instructions. • Resolve unallocated cash and ensure prompt posting to the accounting system. • Raise tenant payable invoices and ensure all recharges are issued. • Perform billing reconciliations to align income with lease obligations. • Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve queries. • Provide general support to the wider finance team as needed.

What You Bring

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a motivated and detail‑focused Assistant Client Accountant to join its Birmingham team. The role supports day‑to‑day financial operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions, record‑keeping, and assistance with reconciliations and reporting. The position requires strong attention to detail, solid numerical accuracy, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Yardi or Tramps. Candidates should have prior experience as an Accounts Assistant, good organisational skills, effective communication, and ideally be working towards an AAT qualification. • Prior experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar role. • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems such as Yardi or Tramps. • Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities. • Effective communication and teamwork skills. • AAT or other accounting qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
