About the Role
In this role you will develop professional, technically‑competent reports and liaise with specialists and clients across a wide range of sectors, using efficient working practices to deliver industry‑leading, best‑value services. You will produce compelling proposals to secure new business and manage project delivery with robust financial control. You will also assist in allocating team resources, manage and mentor professional staff, and provide support throughout project delivery, including client liaison, coordination with contractors and sub‑consultants, public and statutory body consultation, quality control, and specialist management. • Develop professional geotechnical reports and liaise with specialists and clients. • Produce proposals to secure new business and project opportunities. • Manage project delivery with robust financial control. • Allocate and manage team resources across projects. • Mentor, motivate and develop professional staff. • Provide comprehensive support in client liaison, contractor coordination, and quality control. • Deliver geotechnical, engineering geology and ground‑engineering projects and high‑level technical reports. • Influence contract specifications based on client requirements. • Lead delivery teams from inception through construction. • Conduct desk studies, design, procure and supervise ground investigations. • Review ground investigation and design reports in line with Eurocode 7. • Utilise geotechnical software for foundations, retaining walls, slope stability and reinforced earthworks. • Critically evaluate drawings, calculations and reports produced by others.

What You Bring
We are seeking a Principal‑grade Geotechnical Engineer for our Naas, Ireland office, available on either a full‑time or part‑time basis. We expect you to demonstrate strong technical expertise in geotechnical engineering, backed by a chartered qualification and significant post‑qualification experience. You should have consultancy experience with commercial awareness, strong client and contractor relationships, and the flexibility to adapt to projects of any size. Additional requirements include experience delivering geotechnical, engineering geology and ground‑engineering projects, preparing high‑level technical reports, and influencing contract specifications. You must be skilled at leading delivery teams, conducting desk studies, designing, procuring and supervising ground investigations, and reviewing reports in line with Eurocode 7. • Hold chartered geotechnical qualification with significant post‑qualification experience. • Demonstrate strong consultancy experience and commercial awareness. • Adapt to projects of any size, from minor tasks to large programmes.
