About the Role

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on M&E systems. • Diagnose and resolve faults in electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment. • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. • Provide technical support and expertise across multiple sites. • Liaise with customers to deliver outstanding service. • Support and mentor apprentices and junior engineers. • Travel between client sites as a field‑based role and be available for on‑call duty one week in four.

Arcus is seeking a skilled Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer in the Birmingham area to join its leading facilities management team. The role involves delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a defined portfolio, providing first‑line emergency response and ensuring high‑quality service delivery. • Hold a recognised apprenticeship or qualification in M&E services/maintenance. • Possess the 18th Edition qualification (essential) and optionally F‑Gas, Test & Inspection, Unvented certifications. • Have previous experience in a similar retail or commercial role. • Hold a valid UK driving licence. • Demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently. • Be proficient with IT and capable of managing workload effectively.

Benefits

The position offers a salary of £35,834 or £41,210 depending on experience, full door‑to‑door pay, up to a 4% bonus, overtime paid at time‑and‑a‑half, a company van available for personal use from day one, and 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
