About the Role
Chemists work on customer sites providing chemical management, packaging, and disposal services for both hazardous and non‑hazardous materials. This role focuses on ensuring safe handling and regulatory compliance in the field. Key duties include conducting routine inspections and audits of hazmat storage, classifying and segregating chemicals, labeling and packaging materials according to federal and state regulations, and training staff on proper handling techniques. Chemists also respond to emergency spills, perform cleanup, prepare shipping documents, coordinate transportation, and consolidate waste through bulking and repackaging. They advise customers on government regulations, health and safety practices, and proper disposal methods. • Conduct routine inspections/audits for hazmat storage and waste compliance • Classify, segregate, label, and package hazardous and non‑hazardous materials per regulations • Train laboratory and production staff on proper chemical handling and environmental laws • Respond to chemical spills and perform cleanup operations • Prepare shipping documentation and coordinate transport of chemicals and waste • Consolidate hazardous materials via bulking and repackaging • Provide expert guidance on government regulations, health and safety, and disposal methods

What You Bring
Preferred qualifications include experience with hazardous waste classification, lab pack segregation, and waste handling, as well as working knowledge of DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations. Candidates must be willing to obtain a commercial driver’s license within 90 days, use required PPE—including air‑purifying respirators—and pass physical, drug, background, and OSHA HAZWOPER 40‑hour training. A valid driver’s license is required as a minimum qualification. • Experience in hazardous waste classification, lab pack segregation, and waste handling • Knowledge of DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations; ability to obtain a CDL within 90 days • Must use required PPE, including air‑purifying respirators, and pass pre‑employment physical, drug screen, background, and OSHA HAZWOPER training
