About the Role

As an extension of production leadership, this role ensures uninterrupted production flow in assigned areas. The employee provides on‑the‑job training, problem support, and serves as the first point of contact for production issues, working with various support resources to meet day‑to‑day department goals. • Provide backup to the supervisor for all assigned production areas. • Identify and promptly escalate departmental concerns or conflicts. • Serve as the primary point of contact for area team members. • Assist in interviewing, onboarding, and training new associates. • Guide and develop employees to achieve production goals and skill growth. • Monitor attendance, shift start‑up, hand‑off, and break times. • Conduct first‑piece inspections and ensure completion of productivity paperwork. • Coordinate with resources to resolve problems and maintain material flow. • Set up and operate equipment as needed to support production. • Adjust staffing in response to material, machine, or labor changes. • Lead Lean activities such as 5S, Kaizen, waste elimination, and continuous improvement. • Operate equipment safely, including CRTs and forklifts. • Enforce safety procedures, report hazards, and participate in safety inspections. • Maintain current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications. • Uphold nVent policies, standards, and company values. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives alongside the supervisor.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED; 3–5 years production or warehouse experience preferred. • Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP systems for production roles. • Knowledge of assigned production/warehouse operations and safety policies. • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and effective oral/written communication skills. • Ability to train operators on standard work, quality, and company procedures. • Adapt quickly to changing business circumstances and thrive in a dynamic environment. • Able to bend, squat, reach overhead, climb stairs or ladders, and stand for long periods. • Capable of lifting up to 50 lb.
