About the Role

You will conduct fisheries, aquatic biology, and water‑quality field programs across Canada’s freshwater systems, ensuring high‑quality results through rigorous QA/QC. Data, photos, and laboratory results will be compiled and managed to support technical recommendations, and you will prepare summaries, SOPs, and monitoring reports that guide client decisions. Collaboration with Indigenous field support staff and clear communication with clients and contractors are integral parts of the role. • Conduct fisheries, aquatic biology, and water‑quality field programs across Canadian freshwater systems. • Perform rigorous QA/QC on collected data and manage data, photographs, and laboratory results. • Prepare field trip summaries, SOPs, monitoring reports, and technical documents for client decision‑making. • Collaborate with Indigenous field support staff and communicate professionally with clients, contractors, and field teams.

What You Bring

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Biology or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) and field experience in fish and habitat assessments, fish sampling, and water‑quality sampling. Candidates must understand relevant federal, provincial and territorial regulations, demonstrate strong written and oral communication, data‑management, and safety practices, and possess a valid driver’s licence (Pleasure Craft Operator’s Licence preferred). A Master’s degree, experience with hydroacoustic/bathymetric assessments, fish tagging, telemetry, and certifications such as electrofishing, first aid, ATV training, or swift‑water rescue are considered assets. • Required: Bachelor’s in Fisheries Biology (or related) with field experience in fish/habitat assessments, fish sampling, and water‑quality sampling. • Strong knowledge of federal, provincial, and territorial regulations; excellent written and oral communication; data‑management and safety skills. • Preferred: Master’s degree, experience with hydroacoustic/bathymetric assessments, fish tagging, telemetry, and certifications (e.g., electrofishing, first aid, ATV training, swift‑water rescue). • Valid driver’s licence (Pleasure Craft Operator’s Licence preferred) and willingness to travel throughout Canada.
