HVAC Service Technician

About the Role

The current opening is for an HVAC Service Technician who will work on service and site-maintenance projects for national accounts. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems at customer locations, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Key duties include using hand tools and blueprints to diagnose equipment, performing preventative maintenance, preparing for installations, inspecting and maintaining company vehicles and equipment, documenting work and parts used, and providing technical support. The technician must stay current on product specifications, be flexible to work overtime or weekends, and handle regular travel, including occasional overnight trips. • Service products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction • Use a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units • Identify, analyze, diagnose, and repair systems and products at the customer’s location • Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacements, and modifications as needed or requested • Prepare for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating work • Inspect vehicles for condition and cleanliness • Maintain vehicles by keeping service records, scheduling, and completing repairs and maintenance • Inspect equipment for wear and notify customers and/or Operations Manager of findings • Document work by completing paperwork for each job, including daily time, progress, and duration, and maintain files • Serve as a direct customer contact, representing the company • Determine parts to order for repairs and their timeliness • Record parts, material, labor, subcontractor, and other cost data per assignment and return unused resources • Turn in all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner • Keep current on all products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair • Read and interpret product specifications • Provide technical support to customers • Travel regularly with some overnight travel as needed
