About the Role
The Operator – Heavy Equipment is responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment at recycling centers, landfills, or transfer stations to move, spread, cover, load, or compact waste or soil efficiently and safely. Key duties include performing pre‑ and post‑operation equipment inspections, operating machinery such as forklifts, excavators, bulldozers and front‑end loaders according to safety standards, continuously monitoring waste for unacceptable materials, keeping equipment ready by cleaning tracks or wheels, performing minor servicing, documenting equipment condition reports, adhering to safety policies, maintaining a clean shop, and completing assigned tasks. • Perform pre‑ and post‑operation equipment inspections per company policy. • Operate heavy equipment (forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front‑end loader) safely following standards. • Monitor waste streams for unacceptable materials and report issues. • Keep equipment ready by cleaning tracks, wheels, and performing minor servicing. • Document equipment condition reports and notify supervisor of needed repairs. • Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized shop each shift.

What You Bring
The role requires strong customer service skills, effective time management, reliable follow‑through, strict adherence to company policies and safety standards, honesty, trustworthiness, and pride in one’s work. Applicants must have at least two years of heavy‑equipment operation experience and one year of experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
