About the Role

The Construction Superintendent is a vital leader who oversees and coordinates all on‑site activities to deliver projects safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities include managing labor, contractors, materials, and equipment while maintaining effective communication with stakeholders. Key duties involve communicating progress and concerns to owners, architects, and construction management agents, leading and mentoring a diverse construction team, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams, vendors, and suppliers. The Superintendent supervises site mobilization, access planning, staging, security, construction, closeout, and material deliveries, ensuring organized and clean work sites. They work with the Project Manager to maintain schedules, three‑week look‑ahead plans, and prioritize milestones, while coordinating contractor performance and conducting quality‑control inspections. The role also includes resolving issues, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing procurement and tracking of materials and equipment, and producing accurate project documentation and status reports. • Lead on‑site construction activities, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and quality standards. • Communicate project progress and issues to stakeholders and coordinate with contractors, vendors, and architects. • Manage and motivate a diverse construction team, providing mentorship and performance feedback. • Oversee site logistics including mobilization, access planning, staging, security, and material deliveries. • Collaborate with Project Manager on schedule updates, three‑week look‑ahead, and milestone prioritization. • Conduct inspections, enforce quality control, and resolve deficiencies promptly. • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and permit requirements. • Track procurement, delivery, and inventory of construction materials and equipment. • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily logs. • Identify and implement process improvements and best practices across projects.

What You Bring

Required knowledge includes construction processes, blueprint reading, building codes, safety procedures, and project documentation, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and project‑management software. Essential skills are problem‑solving, organization, decision‑making, time management, attention to detail, analytical ability, strong communication, and confidentiality. Preferred qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent and at least five years of experience as a Superintendent, preferably on K‑12, higher‑education, or publicly funded projects. • Require 5+ years superintendent experience, preferably on K‑12, higher‑education, or publicly funded projects. • Possess strong problem‑solving, organizational, decision‑making, and time‑management skills. • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and project‑management software. • Hold at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
