About the Role

You will maintain design guidelines, coordinate content with internal and external stakeholders, and oversee implementation into projects. Responsibilities include supporting the development of design concepts, block plans, and test‑fits, reviewing design documents at various stages, providing design support to project managers and external teams, and collaborating with consultants and product vendors to meet project objectives. You will also prepare presentation materials for executive leadership, incorporate sustainability strategies, and support dashboard reporting and progress monitoring. • Maintain design guidelines and coordinate content with stakeholders. • Develop design concepts, block plans, and test‑fits based on program requirements. • Review and comment on design documents throughout project phases. • Provide design support to project managers and external design teams. • Collaborate with consultants and product vendors to create solutions meeting project goals. • Prepare and present design materials to executive leadership. • Integrate sustainability and green‑building best practices into designs. • Support dashboard reporting, executive summaries, and progress monitoring.

What You Bring

As a Design Manager within Global Design & Construction, you will leverage extensive retail and hospitality project experience to develop design concepts, stay current on emerging trends, integrate sustainable practices, and guide project managers. The role requires a professional Architecture or Interior Design degree, deep knowledge of branded retail and hospitality settings, and mastery of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, along with strong communication and leadership abilities. Required qualifications include a professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design and a successful track record managing all phases of retail and hospitality interior projects, with at least five years of experience in commercial architecture, interior design, planning, building construction, life safety, and building codes. Candidates must understand branded retail and hospitality environments, be familiar with MEP and structural systems, possess applied AutoCAD skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office, and demonstrate excellent oral and written presentation, leadership, organization, and relationship‑management skills. Preferred qualifications are registration or certification with a relevant professional association, two to three years of global financial services or hospitality design experience, and additional knowledge of Revit, Sketch‑up, and InDesign. The position is onsite in New York, NY, does not provide visa sponsorship, and offers an estimated compensation range of $150,000 to $180,000 per year. • Hold a professional Architecture or Interior Design degree with 5+ years of retail/hospitality interior experience. • Demonstrated expertise in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and knowledge of building codes and branded environments. • Strong oral and written communication, leadership, and relationship‑management skills. • Preferred: professional certification, global financial services/hospitality design experience, Revit/Sketch‑up/InDesign proficiency.
