About the Role
The role is a Senior Mechanical Engineer based in Sydney, responsible for providing technical expertise and leading engineering teams to develop and deliver optimal solutions for water and wastewater projects. The position involves managing design work, supporting project managers, and guiding junior staff to meet client expectations on time, budget and quality. • Undertake and manage engineering designs and projects delivering high‑level technical service to clients. • Determine client requirements and produce calculations, specifications and drawings for mechanical engineering solutions. • Provide technical expertise to meet project needs. • Collaborate with project and design managers to plan, coordinate, peer‑review and deliver outputs on time, budget and quality. • Lead proposal development, including value propositions, methodologies, fee estimates and risk reviews. • Organise and support tender document preparation, evaluate tenders and contracts. • Supervise and mentor junior staff. • Developing Professionals Group for cross‑company networking.

What You Bring
Interested candidates should submit a current CV outlining relevant experience via the Apply link; agency submissions will not be considered. • Hold a tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) and CPEng (or ability to obtain). • 4–8 years of mechanical/infrastructure engineering experience in detail and concept design. • Demonstrated leadership in managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams. • Advanced knowledge of clean water and wastewater services and delivery environments. • Strong problem‑solving and negotiation skills. • Good understanding of Design‑&‑Construct or alternative delivery/project/program models.
