About the Role
The position serves as a technical advisor, performing analysis on complex space systems for SIGINT, COMINT, FISINT, and ELINT missions. It requires close coordination with enterprise architects, chief engineers, and program offices to assess architecture impacts and validate system performance. • Support mission analysis assessments and studies for the program office. • Coordinate HIVE architecture impacts, trades, and performance assessments with enterprise, chief architect, chief engineer, and program office. • Manage development, testing, and validation of systems assessment methodologies and tools such as STK, SOAP, MATLAB, or custom software. • Analyze space systems, performance metrics, timelines, and models. • Identify and document issues influencing spacecraft and ground systems through objective analysis. • Provide pre‑ and post‑algorithm implementation analysis and modeling. • Support verification and validation of algorithms, including tuning, testing, and integration planning. • Conduct orbital analysis, including threat assessments, trades, and impact studies. • Communicate technical findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences. • Interface with customers, directorate representatives, and system‑engineering groups to drive resolution plans and strategies. • Generate and maintain technical documentation and reports.

What You Bring
KBR is looking for a Mid‑Level Modeling and Simulation Engineer with deep knowledge of satellite relevance to DoD and the Intelligence Community. Based in Chantilly, VA, the engineer will support a customer delivering mission‑critical capabilities for intelligence‑gathering from overhead systems and will advise senior U.S. Government personnel on next‑generation SIGINT system architecture. Candidates must possess the required security clearance and demonstrate relevant education and experience in the intelligence community. • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. • Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred). • Minimum five years of NRO experience. • Detailed understanding of government satellite systems. • Insight into SIGINT mission fundamentals and ability to analyze complex space systems. • Knowledge of satellite relevance to DoD and Intelligence Community missions. • Strong grasp of Signals Intelligence satellite architectures. • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or similar programming environments.
