About the Role
• Perform daily site inspections of excavation and shaft activities to verify compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and engineering plans. • Ensure excavation practices align with design requirements for tunneling and large shafts and verify work against specs and drawings. • Coordinate independent testing and manage field operations with contractors, subs, and stakeholders. • Enforce OSHA and other regulatory safety protocols, identify hazards, report violations, and ensure adherence to site‑specific safety plans. • Inspect materials and equipment used for excavation and tunneling for quality compliance. • Document and report deviations or deficiencies, working closely with contractors to address issues promptly. • Maintain detailed daily records of work activities, site conditions, and inspection results and provide regular progress reports. • Communicate inspection findings to construction supervisors and engineers and collaborate on solutions for unexpected ground conditions or equipment adjustments.

What You Bring
Parsons is seeking a talented Construction Inspector – Rail and Transit to join the team working on the nation’s premier infrastructure project, the Gateway Program. The role offers the chance to contribute to a transformative rail investment that will improve commuter and intercity services, add resiliency, and eventually create new capacity between Newark, NJ and New York City. • Minimum 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction, focusing on large shafts and excavation. • Ability to be on‑site 100% of the time for continuous oversight. • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. • Experience with mega rail and transit projects. • Experience working with multiple partners and clients. • Tunneling experience is a plus.
